John Manzanares is a Chief Information Officer who has transformed IT to drive EBITDA growth for $1B+ public, private equity-owned and private companies in retail, manufacturing, supply chain, transportation, logistics, and field service companies. With a passion for bringing IT out of the back office to become an integral part of the business, he believes that IT should speak in business terms and evaluate and prioritize with an emphasis on business outcomes.
John serves as the CIO for Curaleaf Inc., a leading international provider of consumer products in cannabis, with a mission to enhance lives by cultivating, sharing and celebrating the power of the plant. He is responsible for driving the digital transformation and technology strategies to ensure integration with the company’s strategic plan and business strategy.
Previously, John was the Chief Information Officer of ITS Logistics, a private equity-owned transportation and logistics provider with $1 billion in revenue. He has established a roadmap and drove the IT department of agile development resources in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Prior to that, John served as the Executive Vice President of Information Technology for CoolSys, Inc., a private equity-owned commercial HVAC and refrigeration services company. He transformed IT in preparation for the successful sale of the company while driving technology innovation and solution strategy to create shareholder value.
As CIO, he led teams of 150+ for agile application development, ERP & HCM, Salesforce CRM, Business Intelligence, and Mobile & Web Customer Integration. He also led cybersecurity initiatives, including SOC implementation, Business Continuity, and compliance data including SOX. He drove innovation using IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and natural language processing.
John is the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the SIM Foundation. He serves as the National Governance Chair and National Membership Co-Chair on the Executive Council for the Society for Information Management. He has served on the Board for the Southern California chapter of SIM for over 16 years.
John has a BS degree in Computer Science from California State University, Fullerton and a MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
